Well modifying a dog the radio would still be a dog, frankly, but this guy does have such a service...

LOWBANDER'S WEB PAGE

Desktop HF radios, apart from used amateur transceivers (which often have general coverage rx built in to the newer models), are rather scarce anymore. Hamfests are your best bets - but first you need to get informed and learn about the radios, reviews and so forth. The links on this page will help...

If you want i can do the mods for you. Just get the parts and pay for the shipping. What version is your radio A or B? If you want to sell it send me a PM

not sure if it is a or b,,pretty soon ill have my little spot in my house back, then will put my :shack" which has been packed away in attic back together, kinda played with this radio, but never seemed like it pulled in all that much, even with a long wire the length of the attic, while i dont really have the funds for a higher end reciever,i figured the updates for this radio may be worth it?,,also if i ran lmr from the attic to my radio will it help loss?(i listen to advice)

We have a different forum for antennas, so I'd suggest posting questions about that there (that's OT on this topic anyway..) - however I will say that just for listening purposes on HF, LMR cable is way overkill. A good quality 58 or 59u will do just fine.

And as for HF antennas, our HF Antennas and Loops wikis have lots of links on the subject (and no doubt there are more you can find with a well-structured search)

best regards..Mike
