Does anyone know what happened to the Eastman Kodak Company Trunked radio system. The control channels have gone silent? Have they switched to another radio system or rebanded the system.

They were using it for public safety, among other uses, so I didn't expect it to require rebanding. That is still a possibility.

The FCC database shows the following additional frequencies for WNMD-243:

864.0125
864.0625
864.1625
864.2625
864.3125
864.4625
864.5625

I just checked this again tonight and the control channel is currently on 864.0625. Maybe they are moving it around for testing purposes?

Yesterday I ran unitrunker against the rebanded Kodak system, and this is what it showed.

LCN Frequency
510 863.7625
513 863.8375
516 863.9125
520 864.0125
522 864.0625
526 864.1625
530 864.2625
538 864.4625

864.3125 and 864.5625 are not showing up. Possibly they are simplex frequencies or future expansion.

Ed

Update:
Dave, NF2G, points out to me that the channel spacing I was using may have been incorrect. I will try to re-verify the information when I get home.

Kodak did have an 852 MHz talkaround channel before the rebanding, so Ed you might be right about one or more of those new frequencies being non-trunked.

I ran unitrunker against the Kodak system several times today letting it build the channel info from the control channel. So I am fairly certain that the following information is correct. Please let me know if you find different info.

863.7625
863.8375
863.9125
864.0125
864.0625
864.1625
864.2625
864.4625

It appears that at the moment they are rotating the control channel, so you will need to put all 8 frequencies in the scanner.

Bear in mind that some trunked systems keep a couple of channels in reserve for high loading periods. They will only pop up during peak traffic times when all of the regular repeaters are in use.

Kodak uses a mixed mode trunking system consisting of 10 RF channels. In addition they utilize 3 conventional repeaters for improved coverage in certain areas. All equipment was rebanded last month. The trunk controller goes cycles thru channels 1,2,3,4 and change to the next each day. In addition with the limited amount of subscribers now being used there is little activity on it. I tend to think if it ever really hits channel 5 (meaning 1-5 are being used) there is a huge issue on campus. The entire time I was out there doing the reband I never saw more than one channel on at a time. This is pretty much what Dave had mentioned earlier.
