159.600 sounds like digital signal. PL 136.5 and 103. Just sounds like brrrr to me, not familiar.
Anyone else hearing this? No voice or ID. Any clues?

Normally digital signals dont carry a PL tone. Was their any side channel signals?

Ah, just heard it.

Its definitely coming through the analog repeater as you can hear the end tone. Don't know what it is though.

EDIT, and just heard them give a 5 count. Must be related to some kind of testing.

Missed the 5 count. Stopped by 2200 local. Earlier heard the 103 PL tone.
You can tell it's definitely repeated. Oh, there it goes again. Missed the PL.
Stay tuned!

I am definitely hearing this. I too thought it was odd to hear a clearly digital signal even though I have a CT value programmed. It went on for some time, had to lock it out.

Maybe they're experimenting with P25 extenders, setup to remote sites which feed into EDSO F2?

An Answer! Just talked to Comm 1 for ED County, and he said basically it was interference.
Some outfit started using one of his links for their data transmissions. Got it taken care of around
midnight that night. He will pursue it later. All good now. Mystery solved.

Bill, one of the sites for 159.6 is Genoa Pk with 35W.
I would think that would be a slam dunk for you.
Not much traffic on this channel however.

Ive had that plugged in for years using 136.5 tone out.
The traffic used to be moderate and during the emerald fire i heard nothing on 159.6000 or 158.9850 so i searched and found nothing are they going p25?
Im getting a lot of what sounds like digital noise in the 160 - 162 mhz range.
I discovered today analog traffic on 158.9850 tone 167.9 input to 159.6000 tone 136.5 genoa pk exactly what r they doing and 160.8750 is no longer input.
Also they have like a msk type burst at end of transmission on 159.6000.
Im not up to date on whats going on ive been busy for a year and havent been monitoring i discovered by accident in search mode the 158.9850 and so far i heard 103.5 and 167.9 tones im assuming the first one is scout pk?
WPEE203 for 158.9850 mhz is being terminated after buildout date expired are they hurrying to finish something?
Placer east is still analog 161.5050 mhz
