• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Can I listen to Edison on a radio with smartnet even though they are on smartzone

If it's a scanner you are referring to, i believe the answer is yes. If not, you should ask in the Motorola forum.

Provided you are authorized to have a radio programed to their system it should probably work as it is a single site system per the RR DB. It just needs to be programed to the one
site. You did not mention what model of radio so I am just assuming you have one that is capable and has the necessary features.

If you have an actual /\/\ radio that's provisioned in the codeplug as SmartNet only, you might have difficulty following that system.

The features only work in the 'backwards compatibility' mode (i.e. - if you have the H38 SmartZone feature, it is compatible with & includes all the SmartNet features as well).
