I would like to know if there is anyway of editing the bandplan of the BCD396T and /or the UBC3500XLT radios. In some cases I notice the Close Call will miss transmissions due to the incorrect bandplan settings, particularly the step sizes, for example it will detect a frequency on 50khz steps instead of 12.5khz. It would be excellent if in the future one could edit the bandplan via the Butel software just like I can do on my AR8200. I am aware that you can select different bandplans on the UBC3500 but none of these are spot on so why not allow us to edit it ourselves.

As far as I know, Close Call doesn't use a band plan.

I have found the same problem with my UBC3500XLT. The default step size for 225-400mhz is 50khz, but aircrafts use 12.5khz. The close call feature uses the default step size for that band. This is so annoying as we must be missing so many transmissions!
Ive looked at the BR330T and the BCD396T and they appear to have the same 50khz step.

Is there anyway of changing this? Has there been any firmware updates?

Thanks

I find it odd that they still use the 50KHz step for airband in the programming given the the USA have fallen into line with everyone else and use >25KHz< steps for mialir.

Editable bandplans is something that has long been missing from the Uniden scanners

The UBC800XLT has a step size of 25khz which is correct. So why cant it be done with other models?

Maybe all the new ones will have the correct defualt step sizes. The 800XLT doesn't have an editable bandplan?

Buying new scanners Darren?

As I like the 3500 so much I thought about getting a USA version if the step size was right. As you know the Uniden in Europe arent helpful in supporting their products with firmware upgrades etc.
Had hoped one of the USA models latest firmware changed the default step size
