a new type of antenna that uses the magnetic component of the wave instead of the electrical wave, but its not a small loop, its a vertical. yahoo groups has a group on it and google now brings up several sites, there was little on it a couple months ago but now alot of amateurs are building them for 160 meters with fantastic results in a very small package. ive not tried to build one yet but its an interesting antenna, with a narrow bandwidth from what ive read. some people say it will replace the marconi antenna types very quickly, time will tell

I read about something like that a while back. A quick check of Universal Radio's web site revealed this:

RH Systems

I don't have any personal experience with these. I remember a BIG argument going on in the newsgroups on Usenet about how effect this design is, in actual use.
i think thats a different antenna than what im talking about, that one is broadbanded and the ones hams have been building are narrow band , i found plans for one somewhere a couple months ago and it was very small and sounded to be tricky to tune.

With a 1.5 out of 5 rating, I might experiment with it but I doubt I'd expect much from it. Although there seems to be a positive note, it has possibility for a stealth antenna. But so too if I wired up my dog. ;)
