I am trying to figure out how to program the dtmf# into my ws1040 scanner dose anyone know how or have any info i am new just playing around with the scanner using arc500

Scanners do not decode DTMF tones are you sure it is DTMF

You would have to provide more information for us to help you. But DTMF is the tone used on a touch tone phone, not something decoded by a scanner as @buddrousa said

its a option under my alarm it says none, chirp, hi-lo, alert, ring. 2-chirp, fast hi-lo, dtmf# i saw a multi tone decoder software program where i bought my arc 500 program would that help

None of my Whistler software has that option

He is talking about the different tones you can set by Talkgroup to alert you when you get a hit. Remember he is talking about a WS-1040 and it is an option if you are using PSREdit or Win500.
