El Paso Cnty: Hwy 94 & Enoch Rd area large wind-whipped wildland fire jumping roads & now a F/I structure. EP800 Red & C2.

El Paso Cnty U/D: Fire has now jumped Peyton Hwy, FD o/s reporting numerous structures involved. Now requesting air operations and requesting closure of Hwy 94 in the area. EP800 C2 very active.

Monitoring Alert: The El Paso County/Colorado Springs fire feed on Scandenver.net will be locked onto the wildland fire ops channel for the duration of this incident.

At least one barn lost.

Units from CSFD Engine and brush 6, Engine 4 and Wildland 4. County fire depts are Peyton, Hanover, Ellicott, El Paso County, Black Forest and probably others.

94 Fire is showing up on the satellite now and appears to be about six miles long which agrees with the geo descriptions given over the air.

EL PASO COUNTY - Eight Fire Departments are battling a wildfire that has broken out near Highway 94 on Curtis and Enoch. High winds are creating a hazard condition for firefighters as the flame begins to head South by South East.

Evacuations are underway and ane roads in the area have been closed. Authorities are asking people to stay out of the area. Reports indicate several homes in the area are threatened. So far, the only structure to have burned.


A grass fire is burning east of Colorado Springs along Highway 94 near Curtis and Enoch.

At first report the fire was about 15 to 20 acres. Stratmoor Fire Department says one shed has already burned, and some other structures are threatened. There are no evacuations at this time,

The fire has jumped Peyton Highway.

Several fire agencies are on scene.


Multiple fire crews are fighting a grass fire in 17,000 block of HWY 94. It is spreading quickly. Officials say evacuations are happening along Drennan Road.

While several homes have been evacuated, at least two structures have burned. One was a garage, and it's not clear whether the other building was a home.

Fire crews say the wind is making it difficult to fight the fire. The call came in around noon.

Fire now estimated at 9,000 acres

Colorado Springs KKTV estimates fire at 9,000+ acres and fire has moved 11 miles from start point. Ft Carson has joined fight along with Pueblo County.

El Paso Cnty u/d. All m/a units have been cleared from the fire. Ellicott FD will monitor the fire. Fire is 100% contained no offical size. NFI LUD

EL PASO COUNTY – The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says a wildfire that burned around 9,000 acres near the Schriever Air Force Base Saturday is contained.

The fire is between 85 and 90 percent under control. Firefighters remained on the scene Saturday night putting out hot spots.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office one home burned. An unknown number of other structures also burned.

Earlier, a spokesperson for the Falcon Fire Protection District said eight buildings had burned.

Around 50 people were evacuated, according to the sheriff's office. Earlier, firefighters had said the number of those evacuated was "several hundred."

The fire, which started at Highway 94 and Page Road, had reached Peyton Highway and Enoch Road by 2 p.m. Saturday.

At 4:30 p.m., Peyton Highway was closed from Highway 94 to Drennan Road. Enoch Road was closed from Highway 94 to Peyton Highway, according to the Falcon Fire Protection District.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
