• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I just receive my radio (536) this week, I am in Harrison (Hudson) If you think I will hear them I will throw them in the radio when I go back to work on Monday and report back on this thread,

Mondaro, feel free to give it a try. But, I am not sure if you would be in range from Harrison. I believe there are also other DMR systems on those same frequencies because I hear that annoying DMR sound on them even on the weekends. I am holding back on upgrading my scanner to DMR because I would only do it to receive Elizabeth School security, but wanted to confirm they can indeed be monitored and not encrypted.

Thanks Mondaro. Were all the DMR frequencies I mentioned above active and is it a DMR system they are using or just individual DMR frequencies for each school? I would imagine one of them is being used by school buses too.
