• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I'd be very curious to know who has licensed 156.57000 as a valid frequency.

This is 5 KHz off from Marine Channel 71.

According to the GRE manual, in this range the available step is 25 KHz.

This is the McLennan Co. s.o F3 PD 156.5700
here is the linkWaco, Texas scanning information
I strongly suggest your source is in error:

1) 156.57 is not an available frequency in either the pubilc safety pool (90.20) or the IB pool (90.35).

2) The FCC License Search database has no license record anywhere in Texas for 156.57.

3) There is a license for KUG472 issued to the McLennan County Sheriff's Office, for the following frequencies:

154.875 (FB2) and 155.37 (FB).

Your radio will accept 155.37 without issue.
