I was curious to see if anyone had the scanner frequencies for Erlanger Lifeforce Helicopter in Chattanooga. Also if you do know them, I was wondering do you think i can hear them if i live in marshall county alabama. Even if i have a trunk tracker scanner.

If you can please let me know. I would appreciate it.

Lifeforce Flight Ops can be found here: http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&ctid=2460

Try Lifeforce Air Medical Erlanger Base and Lifeforce air Medical Signal Mtn. These will probably be the closest to your location for receiving. As for receiving on these frequencies, I am very unclear. That's a question of trial and error. But if you want certainty, a radio test will take place for Lifeforce 1 between 0700 and 0730 hrs and between 1900 and 1930 hrs E.S.T., daily. If you can hear the test, then you are in business.
Also try www.scanchattanooga.com. This site is very detailed and up-to-date on frequencies in 50 to 75 mile radius of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Once site is up, find the "Air Medical Services" prompt and click it. You'll be in a world full of " Southeastern Air Ambulance Treats".
I hope this was helpful.

erlanger lifeforce helicopter scanner frequencies

first off thanks for info. What is the difference between the repeater in and repeater out frequencies. i am not familiar with what that means. also i have found the frequencies which one do you think i would be likely to hear in alabama. Erlanger Medical Center Heliprt Unicom, Erlanger MC Repeater, Hinch Mtn. Repeater, Signal Mtn. Repeater, or Sparta relay. I don't have a clue which one and would just wondering someone else's opinion.

Frequency in are frequencies that are transmitted to the repeater. Most mobiles and portables have a input frequency for the use of the repeater. The frequency out or repeater out are the frequency that the repeater uses to rebroadcast the mobiles and portables transmissions. These frequencies are what you'll need to monitor complete communication and should be the frequencies entered into your scanner.
LifeForce Erlanger Base is the main operations frequency. LifeForce Signal Mtn is a simulcast to Erlanger Base. LifeForce Sparta is used for LifeForce 2 and it's operations and Hinch Mtn is believe to be the simulcast to Erlanger and Sparta. Due to the distance from Chattanooga and the enability to receive signals from local scanners with stock antennas, Sparta would be difficult to be heard from your location. That's unless you're using a very tall and directional antenna to obtain the signal. The Unicom is a communication path to the airport tower comms.

Right here...
Ok let me step in here and clarify some incorrect information.
#1 Signal Mountain is not a "simulcast" of Erlanger, it is its own repeater but since we have direct control over it you can not hear Flight Operations on the input, however where you live in Marshall County that would be what I would listen to so I could hear the aircraft talking back to Flight Operations, (468.0500) I don't think you have a chance of getting any of our communications repeaters directly, sorry.
#2 Hinch Mountain is not "simulcast" of anything either, it is however radio linked from a control station on Signal Mountain and it does relay the simplex traffic from the Sparta Base site back to Flight Operations, it is a stand alone repeater.
#3 Unicom is not a "Communications path to the airport tower comms", since the Helipad is a FAA licensed facility we are required to have an aircraft radio unicom frequency monitored at all time in case any helicopter even non-medical needs to land on the helipad and it is used for air to ground communications.

Hope that helps un-confuse you, and I would be happy to answer any other questions I can about communications around the area.

Thanks,
Mark Mc.

Zac, I strongly apologize for sending you any form of misinformation. I am grateful to learn that someone who's better at providing you with the right information is available to do so. Obviously, Mark IS better qualified to answer any questions regarding the Chattanooga area and it's radio communications. Once again, I'm terribly sorry for my ignorance and I too will ask more from Mark when I need specific advise regarding scanners, radio communications and the like. Like my dad once told me, "Only a fool say he's right, when he's wrong, but a man will acknowledge when he's wrong.
Thanks for your time.
