not sure if anyone has saw this or not, or knows anything about it...looks like ETMC will be making some changes i assume with their system over the next several years. Looks like 4 phases beginning this year for a all digital 700/800 mhz system this says completely secure network.

Interesting that they list Pasadena as a "stakeholder" despite being geographically disparate from everyone else on the list. All they do is contract EMS service, and their comms are handled on the analog Harris County system.

It does, however, lend credence to a dirty, unsubstantiated rumor: that Pasadena is a.) gung-ho about going P25, and b.) not happy with the loss of Private Call capability after transitioning to HC Regional, and committed to spending city money on their own P25 system by the end of 2008 if Harris County doesn't get the ball rolling fast enough on their end. Did I mention that this is a dirty, unsubstantiated rumor?

Some of the same basic details were in a similar "interop" document mentioned a few months back on the DFWScan group. If you look at this document, as well as the previous one, the STARNET P-25, ETMC, and the Parker County P-25 systems are all players in this. I would suspect that's why some of the log reports on the new Parker County system are showing the same system ID as the STARNET P-25 system, since eventually they'll be linked (along with ETMC & some fill-in sites) to provide a fairly substantial interoperability corridor.

I also noted that in the original article from the Waxahachie newpaper, where they had an article announcing that the city would be moving their radio operations from Vhf to the ETMC TRS, Waxahachie officials stated that the radios they were buying were digital capable.

I am going to Centerville and Crockett, TX and Lovelady, Tx It says ETMC is the EMS but there are no 700 Mhz towers nearby except for Groveton? Is that that the one I would monitor? Are the old 800 Mhz towers completely dead except for Waxahatchie ?

Not all of the sites changed to 700Mhz. Tyler, Lindale, and Athens, for instance, are still 800Mhz, even though they converted from the old analog ETMC system to the TxWarn P25. The Waco site did the same when it rebanded from the 866-868mhz frequencies to 851-853.

Don't know what Crockett did, but the database shows a license issued last October to ETMC, for Crockett, for six 700Mhz frequencies, possibly a new TxWarn site. You might try creating these as a P25 system, or at least checking for a control channel, & see if it's active. If so, submit it to the database.

So far, Waxahachie remains active as an analog holdout.

Yes, there is a site in Crockett. It should be site 2-35 but I have not confirmed it. If you could confirm the site Id that'd be great.
