Anyone have information on the Euclid police department's channel 7?
It is not used very often and not documented anywhere I can find.
Two nights ago almost the entire Euclid police department had a house surrounded concerning a possible kidnapping.
They all went to channel seven.

Try scanning all the CECOM 423-425 mhz freqs. When they had the shooting a few yrs ago and Case Western in Cleveland. Euclid SWAT was using one of the common CECOM freqs. 423.85 was it i think. Dont listen to them very much. Might even be a input channel.

Thanks for responding.
I was scanning that frequency range at the time of the incident but didn't have any luck.

Its very rare for them to use that freq. I have only heard it for standoffs and swat callouts.

Just an FYI posting (SRT) or swat type frequencies I may suggest leaving out the pl info from public forums. Anyone could use that information for non legal uses. Having programmed my fair share of radio's I typically will not post "sensitive" information on public forums. Look at it from the perspective of if you were the one having to be on a SRT team would you want the "bad guy" to know your every move. Just my 2 cent opinion.

Post September 11th law enforcement seems to have taken a stand on trying to keep sensative information out of the "public eye" shall we say. You can sometimes go through their FCC license information and can make an educated guess. I will say i've even seen some random frequencies used from time to time to make detection a little harder. As more counties are slowly switching to MARCS some departments believe that MARCS is encrypted all the time. However unless that entity has purchased and installed the encryption boards and have them programmed appropately they can still be monitored.

why is it "sensitive" info when A PL/DPL etc can be had (decoded or gotten easily by almost everyone 1 with a scanner??

And as davidzimmerman clearly stated this freq/pl combo was simplex, the argument that the pl in the wrong persons hands is irrelevant, not to mention that eorange has pointed out the obvious.

Don't feel bad david, thats how most forums work.
The one person who actually replies to a post with useful information often ends up apologizing for being helpful.
Please don't stop being helpful.
When people post questions to a forum and the only replies are from some jackwagon that has decided that no one should should have the information, the forum is officially useless.
Thanks again.

thanks what good is a frequency with out the pl or dpl?????
i'm sure more people have scanners that do decode pl or dpl codes so if i know it i'll tell what i know.if theirs people who use this info for bad things well its them who will get into trouble.i have posted a lot of frequencys with pl and dpl tones for radio reference and never had problems before.dave
