• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Interesting, but not terribly surprising. I've heard many complaints that fire is the "bastard child" at Jeffco dispatch.

What "radio upgrades" are they talking about? Does this refer to dispatch consoles, microwave links or the like?? (I assume their not talking about subscriber radios...)

Here's a brief update...

"The Mountain Dispatch project has been funded by JCECA for the surrounding district at 100% in 2014, 75% in 2015, 50% in 2016 and 25% in 2017. The intent is to allow these agencies time to work the cost into their department’s budget. Right now Elk Creek, Inter-Canyon, Indian Hills, Foothills and North Fork have committed to the project. Genesee, Highland Rescue and Golden Gate have not committed."

"The Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) for the regionalization of dispatch has been reviewed by legal and sent to the neighboring districts for input."

It sounds like "Evergreen" is now dispatching for Foothills FD. In the last few weeks the Foothills DTR channel has been very active.
