The trunk system i listen to is LCR Passport. The voice is Analog. Every 2 to 4 sec there is noise on my scanner like someone keying mike. I think this is called Data Bursts. Is there anyway to stop this or filter it? Or will i need a new scanner? Thanks

sounds like your trying to listen to a LTR passport system on a conventional scanner. To my knowledge, a scanner isn't available to decode the data in passport systems, just regular LTR. That noise is indeed data from the repeaters, "talking" to the handhelds. I would turn off delay for all channels and keep it as is.

What your hearing is normal for a passport system.

Each repeater keys up every two or three seconds and transmits a short burst of data to the mobiles
on the system.

There are no scanners that come from the scanner manufactures today that can trunk track a
passport trunk system so your stuck with listening to the system in a conventional fashion.

Are you sure its a PassPort system, not just a Standard LTR...Standard also does the idle burst transmission...I don't hear them when scanning the system, only if I choose to monitor of of the freqs on the system.

Standard LTR systems do not idle burst every 2 to 4 seconds.

The interval on a Standard LTR system is longer - in the range of about 10 or 11 seconds.
