I got a little frustrated recently that every online scanner feed I listen to has a low-level noise floor on it. While comfort noise like that is great for telephones (I guess?), it’s not so great for headset batteries when listening to scanner feeds.

I’m experimenting with a new scanner feed with “visuals “ (see photo).

I’m scrubbing noise out of the scanner feeds in three different stages and several different filters, for a variety of reasons. I’m in N-Central Brevard county FL, using a TRX-1 scanner w/antenna approx 8m high

What do you guys think of the audio/video combo? You can watch it live here, comments welcome:

That looks pretty sweet.
What software are you using?
Hey there..

And all of that is somehow running smoothly on a first generation (2017?) low-power, fanless, low-performance Quantum Byte PC! I can't believe all that runs on it. Had to turn down the FFT on the (VERY CAPABLE BTW!) Spectrum Lab app to relax the processor

Also ran the O&O Shut Up Windows 10 software (FREE) on the machine first, to turn off and lockout all non-essential Windows 10 background apps (many many!), which proably helped a lot
