I just got a through glass external antennae. Just wanted to know if there are some things I should watch out for while installing it. I do have some tint in the rear window, where I'll be installing on my truck. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi. I've had success with installing through-glass antennas with factory tinting but I get poor performance when it comes to the aftermarket "film" tinting they put on. If you do have film tint, you can take a box cutter and cut a little square out of the tinting where the sticky antenna holder will be mounted. This should help you out.

Just be careful just how hard you score the film that you don't also score the glass. Those windows will shatter very easy under the right conditions.

Also don't mount the antenna over any wires in the window used for defrosting. This will screw up the antenna performance big time. You could also suffer damage to the wires from over heating right at the antenna mounting point.
