To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Is there any way to get the "scan" options to appear in the software with the 3061 that has the digital option installed? I read in another thread that the scan option disappears when the digital board is added. I have analog channels programmed but still see no "scan" in the software. Thanks for any help.

Hi,
Yes,the scan option does dissapear when you program it for digital. It's the one fault of an otherwise nice radio. I keep two templates for the radio_One is for analog with scan and the other for digital.

Thank you for the response. Please forgive my ignorance but what do I need to do to change the profile to analog? When I started, LMR (Digital) was pre-selected. Do I select one of the other options such as LMR (LTR) or LMR (2Tone) and then write to the radio again?

Just change to LMR 2-Tone,then program your non-digital frequencies.Save them as a .icf file and you can just switch them whenever you like. I have a seperate digital.icf and one for analog.
