What pistol caliber do you like?

The 9 millimeter for its high velocity, flatter trajectory and fire power?

The .357 Sig ( a 9mm in a 40cal case ) for its power and flat trajectory?

The .357 Mag compact or 4" revolver?

The .40 Smith and Wesson ( a shortened 10 mm ) for an intermediatary, or due to its popularity?

The .45 ACP , however large and and lanky ; for its large diameter and energy?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I find myself carrying my Glock 23 ( .40 ) while camping. Loaded with 155 grain Gold Dots ; I have one mag in the gun plus one in my cargo pocket.

But I have my Sig 226 ( 9 mil ) , loaded with 124+P's , as a go to gun.

Tsk - Tsk. Is it possible to actually like two handgun calibers based on all the hype of one gun , one caliber?

I'm a revolver man myself [tho I do have a 9mm] I like the 9mm BUT also like the .38 and .22 magnum.
Someday I'd like to get a .22 LR revolver to go with my Bolt action rifle

I seem to like revolvers too, have 3 of them, 1 SP101 .38/357; 1 GP100 .38/357; and 1 .44 Mag Redhawk that I havn't figured out why I keep it--but the best thing I like about them is the crimson trace lasergrips on all of them.

9mm simply because it's what I'm used to. I shot that same caliber at work for the last 20 years, so I like it. It's familiar.

I have two 9mm pistols. Beretta 92FS and a Springfield XD sub-compact. The Beretta never gets shot as the Springfield is a dream to shoot.

Next gun on my list will be an XD 40 sub-compact. Then I may shelf the other two... Nah, I like shooting too much.

Caliber is secondary; the ability of the shooter to place the projectile where it will do the job is primary. Running at full tilt and trying to shoot over your shoulder normally doesn't lend itself to accurate shooting on your part.

9mm is my favorite because it's my carry gun. It's what I have been trained with. Favorite loads: Winchester Ranger 124gr JHP, CorBon Pow-R-Ball 100gr +P.

Weapon: Springfield Armory XD-9.

Also have a .380 and a Sig .40 for handguns.

I carry a Glock 30 .45ACP. Loaded with 200gr +p gold dots.

( Clap - Clap - Clap - Clap )

A good load with a great pistol. Short barrelled pistols tend to compromise on velocity and energy , so using a +p load is a good idea,

Alot of times , in short barrelled handguns ,the bullet is out of the barrel before all the powder is even burned up, so the bullet never reaches full velocity. Hence Speers short barrel pistol loads , like the ?? 135 grain , .38 Special load. Speer created loads for short barrel handguns.

Slow moving bullets and short barrels create low velocity , compromised energy and less than favorable trajectory.

I had a Glock 30. My dad got it on a trade.

I awalys had trouble getting the 9th and 10th round in the mag. But you are definately not undergunned with that pistol.
