The Plectrons are still usable. The FD's still use two tone paging so the Plectrons will work. These units were mainly used for WX alerts from our OEM until they were required to change their mission. These units probably won't be usable much longer with the push to narrowband on VHF Hi.
Image 2 shows the BC780XLT and the Pro-2050 below it. Above you'll notice the off the shelf clock purchased in a local Walmart years ago. I modified the clock to display 24 hour time that you see above the scanners.
Image 3 shows the 396T connected to a voice activated digital recorder. Can't tell you how many times I am ready for bed when there is an incident. Now I can listen to the conclusion the next day.
Image 4 shows the Kenwood R-2000 Shortwave receiver. Next to that is the Radio Shack Pro-2004 which can be connected to either the Linux laptop or the Windows laptop for various decoding.
Image 5 shows the Pro 83 handheld, Standard C558A and 2 Sea 700 radios. The Sea 700's were useful for listening to the 220 ACSB band and the fire departments were using ACSB for station alerting. Not too useful now as this band is basically dead and the fire department is broadcasting in FM on the 220 bands normally reserved for ACSB.

Really nice and clean shack.I like what you did with the 396t and the recorder,thats pretty neat.

The 2004 brings back some memories. Wished I had kept mine!
Those Radioshack cube speakers work very well with communications gear.
There is a pair of those in use here too, with one doing duty on an FT-897D and the other is plugged into an Icom IC-R7100. They seem to have well rounded sound for radio.
+1 for the setup with your 396 scanner and the solid state recorder!
