The XT series of scanners have a nice feature that allows you to lockout PL/DCS tones, but it would be nice to have the scanner ignore any signal that doesn't transmit a pl. tone to be blocked. This would be useful for frequencies used by multiple agencies with PL/DCS tones and also for frequency search with interference. instead of L/O a frequency you could L/O no tone on a frequency.
155.3400 MHz
Hospital 1 transmit pl 136.5
Hospital 2 transmit pl 100.0
Hospital 3 transmits no tone
or there is interference on 155.3400 MHz that locks up the scanner
If IFX doesn't work on the frequency or ATT stops you from hearing traffic on the channel
from 1 & 2 you would have to program in the same frequency twice.
A user could listen to 1 & 2 and not hear 3.
A user could also search a range only for frequencies with a PL on them.
