Last night, Chicago Bulls vs. Golden State Warriors. Of course the 330 was with me. I was having a hayday with Close Call and "Custom Search."

I noticed quite a few fed-looking Crown Vics outside.

Here's what I've got.
466.9000 114.8 PL Janitor Ops
466.9125 CSQ???? Hit on Close Call
507.9500 TV Feed?
507.9750 TV Feed?

Off the Fed range. (Most were full on the power bar at the Coliseum)

417.2
406.975
407.8625
408.1875
415.925
173.075 (P25)
407.0375
163.075 (P25)

Well that 417.2 is probably GSA. Remember the airport is close, too. And were you able to get tones associated with the freqs? That would certainly help with identifying them.

I believe a few of the UHF freqs are from the DOE/LLNL trunked system's site at Lawrence Berkeley Labs.

What makes a Crown Vic look "Fed" as opposed to the thousands of plain color PD, SO and State Crown Vics?

In Northern California you see the usual CHP unmarked crown vics and give away is the antennas, sometimes the License plate frame that reads Sacramento Ford or the tiny decal in the front window used for parking or as a fleet id and the Fasttrak device. Also code3 lights are mounted in the same place in grill as Marked units. Look for the glass mounts!. Local guys give away again is the antennas and tires. Local guys like to drill holes for 800mhz antennas for MDT's in the trunk, also see a Garmin GPS that is low profile like a hockey puck and the trucnk mounted 400 mhz antenna. Usual no tint ion windows. Looks to me like state vehs have more expensive tires than local. Feds have tint windows all around on some cars. Some antenas mounted on the rear deck inside the car and the use the newer LED code3 lights usually mounted internally on visor area. Also hubcaps! State keeps nice and chrome hubcaps, Local guys usually remove or lose them to keep that black rim stealth look, Feds also keep the hubcaps chrome. Why were they at the game? Simple it could have been us marshals doing a dignitary protection deal for anyone of the politicains or foriegn consulate members. I have seen many federal politicians at warriors games. In fact I think they have the same seats everytime,

That's where I went wrong. I didn't look at the plates. I know one of the crown vics (a green one) wasn't fed because it had california [exempt] plates, and a stubby [800MHz? MDT?] antenna on the trunk.
