Hey gang, I've posted this in the streaming section as well, but thought I'd give the AZ scannerheads a heads up as well. You can now listen to my live scanner for phoenix pd thanks to streamwebtown: mms://streamwebtown.com/phoenixprwn

I mainly monitor the 700 precinct but the scanner also has all the chase channels active as well.

Streamwebtown makes this really easy folks. No more excuses. I want to see more live scanners for Arizona! :D

EDIT: Naturally, right after I post this, the feed dies. Bah! I'll fix it when I get home from work.

Throw Mesa up there - my scanner refuses to receive them again... I'd love to have something to compare my reception to.

Inland, that's just it - I can't throw mesa up there because I am not close enough to it!

I propose a project. Everyone with a digital scanner in or near Phoenix who can, put that scanner on streamwebtown and then post the link here! I'd love to be able to monitor Mesa or Glendale again! Right now the only way I could do it would be to travel to Mesa or Glendale and then try it.

By the way, kids turned off the computer - that's what killed the feed. It's back up now (and my kids now know that Dad's computer is OFF LIMITS!)

Do you think you might be able to add one or all three of the Highway Patrol Channels?
I think that the West Channel might be the most interesting to listen to. (Larger patrol area).
Thanks

Dic,

I don't currently have plans to stream anything more than the Phoenix PD. The main reason for this is to ensure that nothing is missed on the PD system while the scanner is stuck on the fire department or the DPS or whatever. Another reason is because DPS, FD, Airevac, etc are all still analog services that anyone with a basic scanner can still monitor. The idea of providing the feed is to allow folks to listen to Phoenix PD without having to spend $500+ on a digital scanner. Last but not least, I believe DPS is being offered on http://stream.electropost.net:8000/icp963.ogg along with Phoenix FD and others, so my hosting it would be a bit redundant and would take away from the agency I want to monitor.

Also, thanks for that other link, although it does not seem to be working.

Dic

Just checked it out on the Icecast directory and it confirmed the address is http://stream.electropost.net:8000/icp963.ogg

Perhaps you have a firewall blocking port 8000? Are you trying to monitor it from work? The firewall we have here where I work will not let me connect to it.

For all Phoenix Metro DPS you could try the link below. It was working as of last week and just tried now but nothing heard in 10 minutes. The player on the page is hard to tell if the link is working or not so you'll just have to wait until you hear something. It did have all of DPS and PFD on it though.
