For what county? The database should be able to point you in the right direction. Most departments are dispatched on a county wide system unless the local department has their own talkaround or fireground frequency.

Most county fire departments are on the same frequency. It wouldn’t do any good to have six or seven different fire departments in the same county, providing services for the entire county, to be on different frequencies. What county and what specific departments are you trying to monitor?

So, it looks like they have it broken down to three different areas. Meadows of Dan, Primland, and Bull Mountain. Kind of strange that a county would do that. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say the frequency you want is whichever area Patrick Springs is in.
Otherwise you could (if you are using a scanner) you can set it to “close call” and it will find every frequency in use in your immediate area.

the area where the op is bull mountain so that's the repeater where you're gonna have the most luck. it should be a countywide dispatch like others were saying, it's not dispatched by department individually, so they usually just have Motorola minitors with their stations tone-outs programmed. its been a few years since I was last there

if you want you can use a uniden 436hp to decode tone-outs but it doesn't work that well on VHF, conventional, or really at all (gets the job done) :censored: just listen for your station to be dispatched on of those freqs and you can save the paging tones as an alert on the scanner. or you can just put the channel into a pager yourself it gets pricey sometimes tho. what are you using to listen right now?

Or you could bring a box of donuts to your local fire station, s trike up a conversation about how they operate, show an interest in what they do, and see if they'll give you their frequencies.

All Patrick County fire departments are dispatched on those 3 frequencies, and those 3 frequencies all carry the same traffic as they have the same input. Bull Mountain covers Stuart.

If you only want to hear certain departments when they get a call, I would suggest getting a Minitor VI or Unication G2 pager and having it programmed to alert for those departments.
