• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I bought a pro 106 and was wondering if there was a feature on the pro 106 that I would be able to search for active TSYS here in MI and listen in without having to program the TSYS in to the scanner? I put the scanner in search mode and it found active TSYS but all I heard in search mode was the static from the towers. Keep in mind I know that I could program in each tower on my route but there are some times when I have my scanner and I would like to just listen in as I pass not having to program in the towers.

I have always wondered the same thing. It would be much easier to be able to listen in with out having to go through all the programing. I don't believe this can be done but someone please correct me if im wrong because i would love to be able to do this.
