You could try to figure them out on your own. You just need to get the tones recorded on your computer. Then you can use a software program, which i don't remember the name of, to tell you the tones. It's fairly easy to do, I've done it a number of times before.

If you can get me a good recording of the tone out, i can probably decode it for you. I don't always get Hennipen fire real well over here.

And there in lies the problem.
Since the switch to the ARMER, all the audible broadcast tones are the same for every fire department on the system. I know however, that sub tones which activate the fire pagers are being sent depending on what station and/or department is being paged. It is these Minitor/Plectron “tones” that I am looking for to plug in to my newly purchased BC396.

Thank you.

I've decoded some of the Hennepin county stuff in the past when i was closer and could get them reliably. So it is possible to decode their tones.

You have to record thier analog frequency to get the tones. They are not heard on the digital talkgroup. If I get bored this week I'll look into getting them for you. Are you looking for the ALF ambulance tones or the Apple Valley, Lakeville & Farmington fire departments tones (or are they the same)?

There is 21 different tones for ALF, Lakeville, Apple Valley and Farmington set up in the consoles, 62 in all for the entire county. They range from officer page outs to station and district page outs. Getting a specific one(s) is going to be difficult.

There are a few that are used most often though aren't there? I would think if you got those you'd have it pretty well covered for the purposes of putting them in a 396.

Ok, did not know that. I will put the a VHF bank in my 396 and add the VHF page out freqs.
I am specifically looking for Lakeville Fire pager tones, as I live closest to them, but also AV and Farmington.
Thank You.
