• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Umm, let's get this correct. Yes the admins do post fire tones when submitted. Typically it will be posted on the county or agency page toward the bottom. I mean you can't post something like that on a statewide page, it makes no sense. However, the problem is that you the users must first submit them so that we can post them. We have no magic way of getting these dispatch tones unless submitted. For an example of how they are posted, take a look at Mongomery County, PA, scroll to the bottom and in the block titled Codes/Unit/Station Lists you will find the Fire Tones for this county.

This is location that was decided back last summer where these tones would be posted, so check your local pages.
