First Bus in Regina System Change?

I noticed something has changed this week for First Bus/Student since Monday. The analog LMR signal at 463.125 MHz has only the occasional understandable one side of the conversation coming through. Now I noticed that there is occasional bursts & not much else.

They used to have voice transmissions every few minutes throughout the morning. I checked TAFL but I have seen no changes as of this writing. Any ideas?

Sounds like static when they key the mic. Would that be something like DMR?

Thank you very much lineman! Been trying to figure it out myself on SDR# without much success. So what would you suggest to receive this DMR signal?
Software or radio?
I use DSD+ Fastlane for these type of signals once i find them. I typically use a USB SDR/software or a scanner to find signals that are not listed anywhere. I then check them out with DSD+ if they are digital.

Many thanks! I’ve downloaded DSD+ a while back so I’ll have to try to install it & get familiar with the settings

I set up DSD+ & virtual audio cable with SDR# & it tries to decode the signal but I’m getting a ton of errors. They aren’t encrypted are they? Maybe it a configuration error

I'm here a lot
You are not doing yourself any favors with that type of set up which almost ten years old. Consider a one time lifetime subscription to DSDPlus Fast Lane and you will see a great difference.

Thank you for the advice. I definitely have Fast Lane on my buy list. I just want to make sure the signal is receivable before I make the investment

The signal is not encrypted and is very strong at my receiving station.

I’ve been monitoring this on and off for the past week. It is Regina Public Schools not First Canada. First Canada is still M.I.A.
TX463.12500 FMRegina, skFirstCanada ULC

I am hearing analog FM activity this morning on this frequency again. I am assuming this is First Canada, as its the frequency assigned to them and its definitely school bus activity.

I noticed some time ago that they seemed to have gone back to the old analog system for some reason. At the time when this frequency went silent I heard them being instructed to use the “blue radio” on certain days but even the drivers don’t know the frequency or format they are using

I can confirm they where using a digital signal but they are no longer. They must have had problems with their FM system and or didn't like the digital system. Only time will tell, but I would hate to be one of those dispatch people that deal with all the bus traffic.
