I just programed all the talk groups from First Energy in the Cleveland area into my SDS100 as a favorite. I''m getting a good signal and I have the utilities on in the service types but have not picked up a thing all day. Are the encrypted?

They don't use the radios like they should and there is very little traffic. Looking at the calls platform, there are only 9 talk groups with any traffic on them at all. It could be days between any traffic on the talk groups.

From what I've been told they use the in-vehicle computer most of the time, voice only when needed. AEP seems to be going much the same way. Columbia Gas has been that way for years; they rarely use voice on their conventional UHF P25 system, all I usually hear is data on an alternate talkgroup.
