What ever happened to the flexible scanner / two way radio antennas of yesteryear. The ones that were really flexible and rubbery.

For some reason the industry today makes what they call flexible yet they are as stiff as a railroad spike and if you catch it on something you are sure to break they tinny tiny antenna mount on your radio.

If any of you are old enough you know what I'm talking about. How about we demand they return to truly flexible antennas and real mounts like the old Fannon, Bendix King screw mounts.

Now you're talkin. I had a few of the BK screw mounts. I find the Remtronix to be pretty flexible and fairly indestructible. I've seen pics of that antenna bent all the way to one side and still working. Amazing.

Now that antenna looks flexible! I still keep my old Austin Condor in my radio bag. Used to double as my tire thumper. lol

Have had several of the Uniden sma antennas on my 396s go bad and the rubber breaks, just put on 2 layers of heat shrink and new pvc cap and they are so much more flexible.
