Today we processed a rather large update to the Florida Forestry page: Florida - FL Forest Service Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

We are not quite done with the update, but you will notice that this page is now broken down by Region / District and then County. Since each county has a different PL tone but the same repeater output, it should be a little easier programming your scanner since you won't have to cross-check and manually enter the PL tone applicable to your county.

If you monitor the forestry department in Florida, please take a look at the update page and provide comments as needed.

thanks

I have heard a unit respond back using P25 on 151.340 to the base which was using FM (as were most of the other units answering the roll call) in the morning around 8:30am.

I have also seen the 85.5 tone used on 159.225 but didn't catch which location I was monitoring at the time.

Many thanks to the contributors and the db admins for updates like these.

@batdude Doug, when did these frequencies take affect? As of two days ago (I didn't monitor yesterday) I was hearing the Jacksonville repeater on 159.2400 with a 97.4PL that was for our entire district. Penney Farms which is Clay County, was known as Channel 72. Thanks for helping keep the database straight to.

The PL tones listed are for the inputs. Need to put the output tones back in. The P25 on 151.34 is for District 10. The Ch 100 repeater is P25 on both sides, on Ch 101 its on input only.

I agree with Jeff. Each district has a common PL tone for the output for each of the repeaters within the district. Only the input PL is different.

The page has been reverted back to (close) to what it was. My apologies for goofing this one up.

I did note that even with the reversion back to the prior PL tones - that a few districts:

Region 1 District 4 - Franklin County
and
Region 2 District 8 - Marion and Levy Counties

still have different PL outputs on their respective repeaters than the "main" PL for that region/district.... can someone verify that is correct?

Thank you for the help,

could you explain this to me a bit better?

"The Ch 100 repeater is P25 on both sides" ??
and
"on Ch 101 it's on input only" ??

We don't have the channel #'s listed in on the page (if there is benefit to that, it can be added)

I show this for channel 100 and 101:

Ch 100 159.450 100.0 Flagler County
Ch 101 159.450 100.0 St. Johns County

if your post is saying they are running P25 (digital) on either or both of these channels, I need more info to update the dB (!!!)

I also do not understand the "P25 on 151.34 is for District 10" - ??

thanks

They normally refer to freqs as channels, 100 is the first channel in District 10, 101 is the next channel, etc. Ch 100 is using P25 on input and output, Ch 101 is using P25 on mobiles, base is analog. edweirdFL had commented that he heard P25 traffic on 151.34, which is the input to 159.45. I don’t see any P25 emission designators in the DOF licenses (KIA286, KIC533, WPYA606)
but I may have missed something.

Although I do not suspect much has changed since 2012 (the link above from Jeff) ---- I am really hesitant on using any frequency list to do any updates unless it's quasi-official and dated within the last couple years. P25 on Florida Forestry would certainly qualify as a >HUGE< change from past years.... but I will admit - I do not, and have not, listened to DoF in the last decade. I suppose if there was a huge fire (again) - I would... but I do not normally listen to them at all. I would suspect that any P25 activity on their repeaters are limited in scope to a few stations here/there that have infrastructure and subscriber radios that can support.

just my .02

I've only heard P25 on the 2 channels listed. On the FB Florida Scanner Radio Group page there are a couple of posts about this.
