Hello. As an employe of Modern Corp. I've noticed that talk groups 0-07-170 Waste Management/Vacuum Truck and 0-09-015 Waste Management/Garbage Truck are both talkgroups of Modern. I have yet to identify the talkgroups internal names. My question however is after all the trucks have gone into the yard for the night, tg 0-07-170 at about 6:30 has someone completly unaffiliated with the company using it. Is it possible that 2 companies use that same tg?

Are you sure that 0-07-170 is indeed for Modern Corp and not a mistake made by the person who submitted the info to Radioreference? Given Talk Wireless has five home repeaters with aprox 250 talkgroups per repeater I am doubtful that there is another user on the same talkgroup unless they have rogue users.

Looking at the database it looks like these groups are confirmed as Modern Corp.

0-07-040 A Modern Landfill Inc. (Garbage Trucks)
0-09-001 A Modern Landfill Inc. (Recycling Trucks)
0-09-010 A Modern Landfill Inc. (Garbage Bin Trucks)

And these are unidentified Talkgroups that are listed as some sort of Garbage removal / Waste management.

0-07-170 A Waste Management/Vacuum Truck
0-09-015 A Waste Management/Garbage Truck

Since you work for Modern Corp it gives you the opportunity to validate the groups listed here and submit the proper info. All the info listed in the database is from all the users that frequent this list everyday and is prone to the odd error unless I submitted it of course.

Hi Homerjay, sometime in 2004 some one submitted the frequencies and system information on these Talk Wireless and Mobile business systems, since then I have submitted the talk groups and tg's for these systems by listening to these systems since the person submitted the system information, I have tried to make sure that all information I submit is correct but I can make mistakes, also the description for the tg's your talking about was submitted by someone else than myself so I don't know were the information came from,.

I listen to these system all the time down here in Fort Erie Ont, and anytime I find new info I submit it to the system, It would be nice to have you submit any information on these system you find and if you find any information that is wrong please don't hesitate to submit changes, you will be helping everyone on this web site by submitting information.

i used to work right next door at Cotton Inc......also a talkwireless user.....

Hello. Yes I'm pritty sure 0-07-170 is to modern corp. I'm going to take my scanner to work with me probally tomorow since it's my early day and listen to the different tg's and compare to whom is talking on the scanner and on my truck radio. From what I can see is that they have 7 tg all together 3 specifically for curbside ( st. cath res t, res t, and west end) and 3 for commercial (commercial t, u.s.a., can't remember the 3rd) and 1 simplex in all radios.

Actually right as i'm typing this, 0-09-015 listed as Waste Management Garbage Truck I think is the residential t tg because 42 (1742) is clearing port heading for home. So.......we'll eventually get to the bottom of this.

Hello. Ok here's the scoop. I tinkered with the radio in a curbside truck and here's what I found out. The curbside division uses 3 tg's.....

0-07-040 - Port Colborne, Welland, Fort Erie, Niagara Falls
0-09-015 - St. Cath, NOTL, Thorold
0-05-160 - West Lincoln, Grimsby, Pelham, Wainfleet, Lincoln.

Tg 0-09-010 is for all commercial division vehicles.

The database said 0-09-001 was submitted as being a tg associated with Modern but I coldn't get it to pop up on any channel in the radio I used. It may be the tg they use in the USA. It's the only channel I couldnt try. Tg 0-07-170 was submitted as being a WM Vacume Truck and it is not a tg modern uses unless it's another commercial tg. I didn't have access to the commercial office.

The company also has an old VHF simplex freq of 150.605

I will submit all hat i found to the db admins. Thanks

Thanks homerjay for the updates to the trunked system, It will help a lot to keep everything correct that is submitted, I just set my 396t up and the ARC396PRO software and let it run on my computer to see if I could find new tg's, ran in background for two hours ,I think I found two more tg's but don't know who they belong to as of yet.
