I thought they used a narrow band EDACS system.

Careful there swstow... FP&L (Florida Power and Light) runs a "statewide" EDACS 900mhz system in narrowband configuration. Statewide meaning it covers the territory they provide service.
Progress Energy (Formerly Florida Power Corp. now a subsidary of Duke Energy ) has the moto 900mhz smartzone system.
Its easy to get the two confused but they are not the same.

Port St. Lucie Nuclear Plant is on a 900 MHz Motorola system. The rest of their comms are on 900 MHz EDACS on a linked statewide system. Not connected to any other system as far as I know. If your PSR500 does EDACS and Motorola Type 2 trunk decoding, you should be good to go. Both databases are available on here.
