If you would like to put your scanner online, I can host the stream for you on the same server I use to host around 50 scanner streams from around Georgia (and a couple in Florida).
I'll provide you with a customized Oddcast setup package (with simple setup instructions) to get you going. The Oddcast program will record the audio from your scanner and send it to my audio server. When people listen to your scanner they'll connect to my server and use my bandwidth, they will not connect to your home PC (which means you don't need to open up any ports in your firewall).
In addition to hosting the audio stream I'll create a web site that will be the home for the stream, a place people can go to listen to your scanner (which would show up in search results when people search for sites in your area). The web site will contain information about the stream (such as codes and signals used, zone maps, etc. if available) as well as forums. The site will also contain some content-related ads to cover the cost of providing the free stream hosting.
As a provider of a scanner stream you will receive recognition on the home page as well as have the ability to post news items on the home page, get the rank of "Scanner Feed Provider" in the forums and have forum moderator privelages (if you want them).
You can go to http://www.ScanCobb.com or http://www.ScanOconee.com to see a couple of sites I have created to provide homes for scanner streams provided by others. I provide 8 streams myself for my first scanner site, http://www.ScanGwinnett.com
