I have an old RadioShack Pro-2045 scanner and would like to leave it running to log frequencies, I know there is VOXRECORDER software that will log, but I would like a program that will log the individual frequencies and have the frequency in the audio file header so I can see what audio files is for what frequency. Are there any scanner logging software that can do that.
Steve
Unless the scanner can:
1) be connected to a PC with some form of API
2) scanner/api/data will give frequency and when the squelch opens and closes
The squelch open/close is crucial to the start/stop recording and the logging of the frequency.
Sadly your Pro-2045 scanner supports no computer control and API functions.
Yes there are programs for audio recording that will start/stop on audio level/etc but the scanner frequency will no be available to them....... unless your rig a camera to snapshot the scanner display when recording starts. Or you could just set your PC / video camera to capture both video and audio and then post process manually.
If you want the sort of function you are looking for then my free Scan125 program can do this but you will have to invest in a Uniden 125 series scanner. This is an analogue scanner, like your old Pro-2045.
There are other scanners available that possibly support what you are looking for and more.
