Please help I have the Uniden BCD996P2 and can not get it to connect with Freescan. I am using windows 7. I also have a Uniden BCT15X and have used it many times with Freescan with no problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a least a second time there is a know hiccup when you start on a scanner the first time it wont connect even if it is connected. click connect or Auto Connect and then it will for some users immediately, even when its been used multiple times on the scanner previously it just won't show the first connect after a computer restart or reboot.

Have you checked the driver for the lastest 01.01.14 Uniden Driver, then deeper in the driver at baud rate and the what not, also in the scanners GPS setting for baud rate. You can search/check-out the forum, on the driver issues others have used to fix their Uniden scanners.

Thank you for your reply. I just checked and I have driver version 1.0.0.0. I am not sure where to get the current driver I have looked at the forum and have followed the instructions of other users. My problem is not with the pc unable to find the driver it will not communicate with the scanner.

I have figured it out. Thank you again for your reply. My problem was simply that I had not turned the scanner off and back on after I updated the driver.
