Read about Freescan, a little.
Know nothing about it.

Is it compatible with a new SDS200 ?

Any opinions re the pros and cons of Freescan vs Butel's ARC software for ?

Do I want it (if compatible), or just stick with Sentinel and
occasional use of Butel ARC 536 which I purchased ? Why ?

No.
It will not work with the SDS100,SDS200 or 36 series scanners as Uniden's Sentinel software handels those.
I have used free scan in the past for the older radio and the 996P2 and 325P2 and it works well.
However it is a pet project or it's owner and lately it appears he doesn't have the time needed to keep up.
But he does the best he can.

If you have the HP,SDS, 436/536 series scanners download and stay with Sentinel.

I have never used Butel, but most I hear like like it.

I'm not sure why so many people are allergic to using Sentinel. It's free, it's written for your scanner, and it works.

I don't understand why folks keep thinking that FreeScan works with the HP scanners- all they have to do is to go to the website and it's right there which scanners it supports. All you have to do is look... (sheesh)
