FREMONT, Ohio — Sandusky County plans to move toward joining the in-development statewide digital radio communications system.

The county's emergency management agency has offered more than $105,000 in federal grants to help fund the project, but all that money must be spent by March 2013. Damschroder suggested those funds be used to buy a few radios, at about $25,000 each, for area fire departments.

Buy a few radios at $25,000 each? Hmm. Now those are some downright expensive radios!
