I wonder if anyone has a frequency for the ACU P.D. in Abilene or any other ACU channels? (Abilene Christian University) I found some on cityfreq.com, put them all in the scanner, but nothing heard on any of 'em. I already have McMurry University's security/maintenance channel, 157.5450.

I still don't get what's going on with Hendrick Security. I heard them talking plain as day ONE time yesterday on their 452.05 channel, but that was it. No more chatter.

Thanks-

I do hear on occasion a morse code ID on an old ACU channel, but no chatter at all. This town is the most dead on earth for scanning since the PD bought the salesman's pitch about ProVoice! There is just flat nothing to listen to except the bus co., water dept. and ambulance calls. Of course, Taylor Co. SO.

No. I don't know anything about Dyess. I'm too far to hear anything and haven't been through Abilene in almost 30 years.
All I know is most of the other bases around here have trunked systems.
Dyess and Altus are the only ones that I haven't heard of having a trunked system.
I don't know if its because they don't have one or if nobody has found them and reported them.

Nobody has ever submitted anything but the air traffic control frequencies for Dyess.
You might check and see if you hear anything on these:
173.1750 Fire Dept
171.3875 Fire Dept
173.5875 Fire Dept
163.5375 Hospital
173.5375 Hospital
165.1375 Security Police
163.4875 Security Police

I got those from a very old list and don't know if they are still used.

Back in the 80's most of the freqs at Sheppard were in the 162-174 federal band.
Then the Security Police and Commander's Net moved to the 138-144 band
for a few years before they put in the trunked system
so you might search the 138-144 & 148-150.75 ranges and see if you hear anything.

Sounds good, Tom, and thanks for those freqs.! I'll give 'em a listen. I don't know what's going on with my Pro 433, but on a 127air frequency, when they talk, I hear a control channel for a trunked system. That's strange. I thought it might be Dyess tower and me getting harmonic of a control channel, but looks like the radio may have a problem doing that on 127.** a.m.

Thanks again, Tom. If I get anything, I'll try to let you know what I hear.

I have not listened to it in awhile, but I used to listen to 463.8500. It was not only ACU police but it was also tied into the phone system. You could hear people calling ACU police on the phone and sometimes it was interesting.

Well, no surprises, and no talk. I'm about to decide all of 'em, Hendrick & all, are going to either 700, which I can't get, cell phones or smoke signals! We're about down to buses and garbage trucks here.
But, I'll leave it programmed in and keep monitoring. :)

Well, I just went through all my search banks, and came up with nothing but occasional garbage and harmonics, probably a lot of it from the digital TV stations. This is one dead burgh to hear anything in. What I hear now, is what I will hear period.

I emailed a Lt. at the APD we know if he knows ACU's PD frequency. What's odd is they have a new one, but like Hendrick Security, it's not listed on any license or scanner freq. searches.

scanaholic,

Have you tried searching the Triton Comm LTR TRS? I also noticed that in the past year Texas Communications has been licensed a bunch of 460MHz frequencies in Taylor Cty. This could be for an LTR system (similar to the one they run in College Station) so you might want to search these LTRs for ACU Police. Worth a shot...

If I was going to search for them I'd say there is another LTR system in Abilene (Texas Comm) they could very well be on, and also that no TGRPs have been identified for Triton's LTR- so I'd start there.

Oh, trunking, I guess. Well, if it's that, I won't be attempting to program it if I do find it. I couldn't have programmed this Abilene Edacs 800 stuff on the Pro-433 at all had it not been for a guy named Dick on here, calling me long distance from OR. and walking me through all that. Guess I'm not as tech-minded.

I've been searching through the 460 area almost daily and never hear anything. Just thought of that.

Actually, you lost me after the first word of your post. Sorry!
