I know there are a lot of sites that allow you to find frequencies for specific cities but I find most are not laid out that well. I started playing around with the FCC database that you can download from their site and came up with this simple page. Enter a city and a state and a list of business names with their frequenies will be displayed.

Maybe useful to some, maybe not. Give it a try.

I'd like to incorporate it into Google maps and pinpointing transmitter locations but who has the time.

Plain and boring, I know, but functional. I would like to do more but if there is a good site for this already out there, why reinvent the wheel?

Actually you can get similar results from the DB here (by sorting the license page by city); however, this does do something ours does not, and that is work by city. Well duh -- what I mean is our DB attacks from the county level, your linked one ignores this and works on the city alone. For example, here in Amarillo, half of the city is in one county and half in another so your link helps in those instances.

Just 1 question. Is this database current??? I checked it out and there are tons off freq's in it for my city, that's the reason I asked.

I am not sure when I downloaded the information from the FCC site. Probably 4 - 6 months ago. I can download updates daily and keep it very up to date, that's not hard to do. I just started playing with the data one night when I was bored.

As far as city versus county, I never thought to include a search option by county since there is literally NO county government here in Connecticut. It would be pretty easy to add that search option. If people think it is worth while to update this and add some options, I don't mind doing this in my free time.

Ditto Loumaag. Very good point. This is pertinent when city/county lines are less defined /overlapping. More rural, more likelihood. Homework required in these cases. Nevertheless, It's all available here, on RR.

N1GTL--Thanks for posting that info. Sometimes "city" is more usefull than county! And "it" is quick and easy.

Thanks. Once the kids are done with summer activities (baseball, softball, swimming, tennis, yada yada) I may try to spend some time creating a more robust site.

I just downloaded the FCC database file last night and updated the site. I basically am using the EN and FR tables for those familiar with the FCC DB. I also loaded the GMRS database which does not seem to list frequencies so you may see licensees but not assigned frequencies. I'll be working on making it searchable by licensee name.

I also updated the ham radio call sign database for this page:
