Frequency not working in scan mode

i have my county fire disp in my scanner. It’s worked all the way up to a few months ago. My scanners not picking anything up in scan mode. It works in fire tone out. What could be the issue?

What county? What state? What scanner? Numerous different possibilities (accidental lock out? disabled service type? inadvertent programming or tone change? others) exist but more specific info is needed from you so we can try & narrow it down

The display will tell you if anything is locked out.

Are you referring to their conventional channel for fire dispatch?


Or their talkgroups on the statewide system, MPSCS?

If the conventional dispatch frequency, try removing the 131.8 PL tone. It may have changed.

What frequency is the fire tone out? If 154.445, the PL tone is not the problem. It is possible that the voice was removed from the dispatch channel. Try sending the programming files to the scanner again in case something in the scanner got changed. What programming software are you using? If you attach your file, I can check it for problems. For ProScan, click on Attach files and Open the file. For FreeSCAN and ARC-XT. you will need to right click on the file and Send to Compressed (zipped) folder to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and Open the zipped folder.
