Frequency Type??

Hello, when programming frequency "Type" for Muskegon, MI, what type am I to use, R, BM, B, M, or RM?? I have a Uniden BC72XLT I was told to use M or RM but I was given frequencies recently that were both B's. thanks for the help anyone can give me, Kristi

Not sure what you're referring to. What does R, BM, B, M, and RM stand for? Who gave you such information? Could you mean FM, NFM, WFM, AM?

Just pick out frequencies you want to listen to and program them in.

You should not need to worry about "Type" .

Hello, on the radio reference page, there is frequency, input, license then Type. It then shows R, BM, B, M, and RM. It doesnt matter what Type I use?? I can just put in any frequency I want then?? thank you

What you are looking at is R=Repeater, BM=Base/mobile, B=Base, M=Mobile and I believe RM= Repeater Mobile

The scanner books would always seperate these and show how many of each their were. You just need to look at the frequency....so police/fire/ambulance departments use repeaters, you will see two frequencies for repeaters an input and output. You only need to concern yourself with the output frequency. Everything that is on VHF/UHF is in FM mode
