We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Sheriff's Officer said he was enroute Code 2 on a 11-99 call. Listened several minutes but heard no further reference's to it. By being a Code 2 run, must have been important though.

Anyone know what this is?

Generally, Code 2 and 11-99 would be mutually exclusive.

You would respond Code 3 to an 11-99 call, or it wouldn't be an 11-99 call. Generally, that's reserved for officer involved shootings, officers down, etc...only the most life threatening incidents...again, though, this is just generally. If Fresno uses it for something else, I'd be surprised...and they'd be in the minority...

11-99 is a general across the board code that means the same thing almost everywhere you go.
