Hello,
I have been programming the FRS and GMRS frequencies into a Favorites List and when I test from a Baofeng UV-5R it stops on any channel. When I press the PTT the scanner locks onto any of the 1 - 22 channels even though I was on Channel 15.

It does this every time and you cannot hear the audio on the scanner unless it stops on the channel I was queuing up. How do I only get it to stop on the correct channel and not any random channel within the 1 - 22?

Thanks.

Hello, for future reference, I don’t think it is legal to transmit on FRS / GMRS frequencies on the Baofeng. That being said, were the two radios close when you transmitted? Perhaps the front end of the scanner was getting overloaded? Also the Baofeng’s are known to transmit outside the frequency it is set to.

Remove the antenna on the 436 and try again. I have to remove the antenna on the transmitting radio to reduce the signal. It's only for short tests so it should be ok without blowing up the power amplifier. I also program the radio to the lowest power possible.

You're overloading the receiver on the 436. Try removing the 436 antenna for testing, reduce power to minimum on the transmitter, and connect a dummy load to the transmitter for testing if you have one.
