Before I go digging down into the radio, I thought I would ask if anybody has heard of any common problems that would cause the FT 100. to have no power out on HF or VHF? Thank you.

There was definitely a ALC Circuit issue that caused that problem, but I seem to remember it being everywhere, not just 2 of the bands.

It is everywhere. I’m hoping somebody has experience to say that it’s just a chip.

Do a complete reset on the radio. Instructions are in the manual.
Using a 100w dummy load (HF) transmit on 14.200 USB at 25w, 50w and 100w power levels.
Using a 50w dummy load (VHF/UHF) transmit on VHF and UHF ham frequencies at low, mid and high levels.

If you get no power output then the MOSFETs are likely blown. It'd be a little odd if the HF and VHF/UHF MOSFETs are blown together. Usually that signifies major static (lightning damage) coming through the transmission lines and into the transceiver.
