Does anyone know the default values of the service mode alignments? I am looking for TX Deviation specifically. If you know how to enter the service mode you can take a look for me and post here.

Maybe this will help, ;)

I screwed up! Too many radios, so little time! I gave you info for the WRONG model. This is what you need,

Yaesu FT-60R TX- Deviation for 146.000 I was in that mode and bumped the VFO knob like a dummy and I think it's off a few clicks up or down I don't recall what the display read before I bumped it I need someone who has the same radio to look and see what the default value is so I can set mine back to default asking Yaesu for this is like asking for proprietary secret company data (Pointless)

Open the menu again, scroll to where you were. The manual should list default settings to put it back. IF you didn't save the setting you bumped it to, then it should have reverted back to its default.
I would help more if I could, as I have the VX6r.

I have a folder with yaesu stuff in it, let me look through it and I'll get back with you ok?
I found this, which might be of some use but I'm still looking for something else.

I went here too, but I only have a free membership and I already looked up one file earlier so I can't use this again til tomorrow. I think the support file listed here has your default menu,

Look where it says "ft60 support".

I have the same subscription there too, those files are all over the net at many sites and none of those will help my situation unfortunately I will just have to wait until someone with a Yaesu FT-60R and have them look and see what their radio is set too?

I searched the net using so many different search engines and there is nothing on line about this subject until now we are starting it LOL

Did you see this one?
Not your model, but I think the directions for the menu access are still the same.

Does this look familiar?
This relates to the ft-60 also,
Hope it helps!

CHANGING
THE TX DEVIATION LEVEL

In many areas of the world, channel congestion has required that operating channels be
closely spaced. In such operating environments, it often is required that operators use
reduced deviation levels, so as to reduce the potential for interference to users on adjacent
channels. The FT-60R includes a simple method of accomplishing this:

1.
Press the [F/W] key, then press the [0(
)SET] key to enter the Set mode.
2.
Rotate the DIAL knob to select Set Mode Item 55: WID.NAR.
Set Mode Item.

4.
Rotate the DIAL knob to set this Set Mode Item to “NARROW.”
In this configuration (HALF DEVIATION active), the
transmitter’s deviation will be approximately ±2.5 kHz, and the
received audio output level will be increased, for easier listening on the narrow signal.
5.
When you have made your selection, press the PTT switch to save the new setting and
exit to normal operation.
The “normal” setting for the deviation (when this Menu Item is set to WIDE) is ±5 kHz.

Entering the Alignment Mode

Alignment of the FT-60Ris performed using a front pan-el software-based procedure. To perform alignment of the
transceiver, it must first be placed in the “Alignment Mode,” in which the adjustments will be made and then
stored into memory.

To enter the Alignment mode:
1. Press and hold in the MONIand LAMPswitches turn-ing the radio on. Once the radio is on, release these two switches.
2. Press the keypad in the following sequence: [(MHz)] [0( )SET] [1(SQ TYP)] [7(P1)] [V/M(PRI)]
3. Press the [F/W]key to cause “A0 REF.xxx” to appear on
the display for five seconds, this signifies that the trans-ceiver is now in the “Alignment Mode.”

TX Deviation

5. Tune the frequency to 146.050 MHz, then set the trans-mit power level to “LOW.”
6. Press the [F/W]key to recall the alignment parameter to “A3 DEV.xxx.”
7. With in five second of appearing the “A3 DEV.xxx” on the display

A3 DEV XXX is what I need the value for.

Well I got a whole bunch of replies on the Yahoo Groups Yaesu FT-60R. Some were honestly trying to help me but most were rude making comments that I was stupid to enter the service mode and deserve having my radio all messed up now. It was shocked and very disappointed didn't expect such childish behavior from Hams even but I guess that's the way of the land these days. I am super bumbed I can't get the radio back to normal and don't want to send it in for repair I wish there was an HRO or other ham radio store close by I could check the display radio and this would be over and done with.

If you have a Yaesu FT-60R please PM me or email me I would really like to get this problem fixed
Thanks

Trouble is, each radio is slightly different, so getting a number off another radio won't necessarily be the right one for yours. It could be, or it could be way off. These alignment settings are there to allow adjustments for each individual radio based on variations and tolerance differences in the individual components. To do it correctly it would need to go on a service monitor.
Short of that, keep looking for someone who can give you their setting and give that a try. If it sounds OK on another radio, they just leave it as is.
Sorry some of the other amateur radio operators were rude. That's one of the reasons I'm not on the air very often.

Sorry also, that those guys were being asses to you. I won't since I've been in a similar spot. Another idea might be to call someplace like R&L or AES and ask them if they can power up one of their demo ft60's and bring up the service menu to give you the correct value.

I just checked my FT-60R and it lists "A3 DEV.19H" as my TX Deviation, but as mmckenna said, each radio will be slightly different.

Thank You Very Much KE4FHH

I really appreciate it. That is the correct value, I was off by a few clicks when I accidentally bumped the VFO knob while just looking not changing or intending to make any changes. I have been searching and searching the net for this problem I made for myself and it isn't anywhere to be found just about 30 of the same PDF files that are the Yaesu FT-60R "Service Manual" which explains in detail all of these neat little unknown features and adjustments but they don't list the default values for all these different parameters to be adjusted a real pain in the but if you don't write them down first.

Again Thanks

Dave
