I was scouring YouTube for some cheap entertainment when a video popped into my feed. This video was being recorded by an "auditor" in front of an entrance to Ft. Belvoir. The person recording the video was being contacted by officers of The Department of The Army Police and the date of the recording was 12/10/2021. What I noticed was a M.P. vehicle with a VHF antenna on the right passenger side near the trunk. The DAP officer had a portable radio secured in his tactical vest and it had a VHF antenna as well. Based on the length of the portable radio's antenna, it appeared to be tuned for the military VHF band from 137-144mHz and the radio traffic I heard sounded like P25.
I researched the RR database and couldn't find any VHF frequencies associated with the DAP or M.P.'s but I did find, obviously, the Joint National Capital Region TRS with all TG's assigned to the installation. Did Ft. Belvoir join the JNCR TRS since December 2021 and the video shows equipment in use at that time or, are they using VHF and no one has the information posted on this database? I ask because I recently made a trip from Georgia to Maryland and my route took me through that area on I-95. I travel that route a couple times a year to visit family and would like to add their VHF info to my scanner. If no one has any info maybe I can do a search of the military VHF band when I'm traveling through there again and possibly find something.
