The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi. I have a G1 charger and a G1 with brand new Tenergy 1100mah batteries. I put the G1 in it's charger (the batteries are half full) and the charger will stay red then goes to green after 30 secs then goes back to red and back to green again. It does this constantly. Is this the charger itself or the ac adaptor? Should i buy a new G1 charger? Batteries charge fine on external chargers and in the charger's 2 aaa slots

Easy to try an alternate supply. IIRC, the G1 charger (not charger/amp) is simple USB power (5vdc) so any wall wort with a micro USB plug would likely work. When I carried a G1, I put a charger in my truck using a cig lighter USB and cable.

That would be my first step in trouble-shooting after I thoroughly cleaned all the contacts: pager, charger, battery holder, etc.

Then consider another charger.

If it’s a different connector and/or voltage, it’s still easy to find a replacement wall wort.

Ok good. Thanks ill try anything at this point. I dont wanna spend over $70 for a new G1 charger. Why are they so expensive?

Dealer here.
The charger wall wart is a 5.9v supply. The barrel end is the same size as any standard Uniden plug, but its half the voltage.

If the charger will charge the batteries via the 2 battery expansion slot, have you tried cleaning the contacts at all on the pager or the charger? Sometimes rubbing them down with a pencil eraser will be enough to remove any grime that might have built up. You may need a little rubbing alcohol if that doesn't work.

I'd personally try cleaning the contacts first on both the pager and the charger.
