I am in Columbus, Ohio I am trying to get gahanna police and MECC dispatch on my new BCD325P2 scanner. I had it working on my BCD396 before lighting hit my house, I just cant seem to figure out why I cant get it to work on this one. This is my export log from freescan. Any ideas will help.

Thanks,

I got it working. scanner needed firmware update.
Without looking up the frequencies, I see Columbus MARCS in your list. Do you have another site in there too? 41 channels seems a bit high. I'm also pretty sure MECC is on Columbus City unless they actually got roaming approved. I was talking to a Violet Two FPO about this a couple weeks ago. It would be good for MECC to get roaming.

Last time I checked, Gahanna PD (as a MARCS customer) uses the Columbus MARCS site rather than the Columbus City site. Ditto for Bexley, Whitehall, New Albany, Grandview Heights, Brice (such as they are) and Columbus State CC police.

That being said, Columbus City and Columbus MARCS need to be programmed as different sites (or systems, if the 325 doesn't use Dynamic Memory like the 436/536/SDS radios).

To scan both Columbus city and Columbus MARCS in order to get MECC and the law groups, he would need all 58 channels or 8 control channels programmed, 4 per site. Not knowing if that scanner will just run off the control channels or if he needs all of them. I guess that's where my question stemmed from. He may be missing traffic if that scanner needs all 58.
