• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a Galaxy Saturn Turbo that keys up with the red LED on but puts NO POWER out the back unless i have the brown and black 8 volt Amp relay Key Plug unplugged, then it does 2 watts swinging 7 and 15 watts of swing on SSB. when i plug the relay key wires back in, i get no power but the Relay arm inside moves a wee bit but doesnt CLICK. This all of a suddon happened!
Are my 2SC2290 Pills in the back shot? Or is the relay done? the Relay isnt CLICKing anymore when i PTT and this all happened all of a suddon when i was talking. the Arm inside the Relay moves, however the Relay no longer Clicks and i dont get power output with the Amp Key plugged in. i have to unplug it then i get a few watts of power output.
The radio has the Ranger EPT295013Z Board.
Please Help
WIll

Check the power supply. Turn the tx power down as far as it can go and see if it will transmit. The saturns power supply was not strong enough to handle the amp that is in the turbo version so it is the first thing to go.

Okay thank you for the reply. The relay started working normally again randomly when i moved connectors around and cleaned things up a bit, but now smoke was coming from the amp upon keyup! So in to the tech she goes with new transistors and whatever else plus possiblly beefing up the power supply.
Might try one of those rectangular ebay 30 amp power supplies with the fan built in and the metal case since itl fit in a 2990. Seen a guy on youtube do this and it has adjustable voltage. Not very expencive either.
Too much space taken up to run an external power supply
Thanks for the reply!

DON'T buy a power supply off E BAY, get one at an radio dealer, they are a lot better and you can return them if it fails out of the box....
